ECI Software Solutions, a Fort Worth-based leader in cloud-based business management solutions, has completed the acquisition of Merchant Systems Group Limited, the UK developer of the eCommonSense platform, a market-leading e-commerce and product data management solution specifically for lumber and building materials, hardware / home centers and related household goods dealers. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
eCommonSense was specially developed by a craftsman for the building materials supply industry and can be integrated into the most common business systems so that building suppliers can increase their efficiency, grow profitably and increase customer satisfaction.
eCommonSense will join ECI’s LBM and Hardlines group, which will use eCommonSense both as an integration with their cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions and as a standalone global e-commerce solution, ECI said in a press release.
“ECI’s vision is to be the global leader in vertically-specific cloud software solutions while at the same time constantly offering new values to our customers and the markets we serve,” said Trevor Gruenewald, CEO of ECI. “Adding eCommonSense to ECI’s portfolio and investing to grow it into a truly global solution will enable us to provide our customers – and the LBM industry – with the eCommerce capabilities they need to be able to to remain competitive in today’s market. “
“When I first partnered with ECI, I noticed how similar our missions were: to provide construction suppliers and distributors with the technology they need to create the strongest businesses,” said Andy Scothern, CEO and Founder of eCommonSense. “As I got to know ECI better, my belief has grown that they are the right partner to help us scale and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”
Privately owned ECI has offices in the United States, Canada, Mexico, England, the Netherlands and Australia.
